[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Gulf Fritillary (Agraulis Vanillae) I believe.

I was taking a picture of an acorn weevil (which I'll share later) when this butterfly landed nearby on a dry iris leaf. Quite a bright distraction. I got a nice shot of the other side of the wings as well which are quite different. Maybe those for tomorrow.

Hope you enjoy, and hope your weekend goes well.
Reid

Hello Reid
Hust one word: wow! Great image. Perfect colours and composition. TFS

Chris

...yes it is a clear shot with nice saturation which I personally like. A flying orange Popsicle. Such a nice natural perch although this wood looks as if it were readied for the cookstove. No...not in Georgia?

Hello Reid,
Fine capture of a Gulf fritillary, taken from a good POV. The focusing is right where it should be, giving a sharp area around the body.
I last saw this species about 12 years ago in Trinidad and noticed the beautiful silver spots on the underside of the hindwings, but that was before digital cameras were available.
TFS,
Ivan

bonjour reid
vous n'avez pas choisit la facilité pour prendre ce papillon,en effet il fallait si risquer de le prendre comme cela au risque d'avoir un profondeur trop limitée mais le resultat est relativement bon.
