This is an impressive macro, Robi. I have never been that up close and personal with a cricket. It is fascinating in its detail. The black background from the flash is effective here.

Hello Robi,
What can I say abvout this picture? At first it is a very good quality macro. Orthopterans are rather big or medium sized insects but to take picture of insect's head is not so easy. Here we have a professional light control and very good depth of field (details are so good that I can easy see single ommatidia in its eye!). MOreover the colouration of image is very good - tones are well saturated and vivid. Another element of this presentation which I like a lot is contrast between insect and black BG. I just do not know if the violet flower is necessery on this photo but this is just a very small thing :)
It is also a pitty that there is almost nothing in the note. It would be nice to find here much more details about insect :)
Anyway, the presentation is very good and beautiful :>

It is a shame to me. I have ceased to visit your pages and to make comments on your remarkable pictures for no reason at all; can be because of memory on names. I shall try to be corrected and be worthy your attention and your works.

This shot is simply outstanding in every aspects. Terrific magnification, amazing framing and composition, stunning work flash and exposure parameters. I am impressed with sharpness, details and colour reproduction a lot. My congratulations and best regards. This is my next favorite macro shot.
