This species occur in my village, too, but I've not get photos of them yet. Nice pose of Black swallowtail you've captured.

Superb capture of this wonderful black Swallowtail. You've managed the black colour against the light background so well! Excellent details showing the beautiful markings and colours on the wings. I like its pose on the pink flowers, the soft background with the diagonal grasses and the composition is excellent.

Hello Claude!
There are many Papilionidae butterflies here on TN, and many of them are really good. This one is one of them. I like a lot of elements from this picture and here you are some reasons why:
1. composition - really very traditional if we are talking about butterfly photos, but really good. More free space on the left - where the species is looking at, less behind it.
2. colouration - starting with delicate BG which has warm, and beautiful colours, to insect (great saturation!) and frame
3. POV - just I like :)
4. DOF and details - very good, only on the flowers sharpness would be a little better.
Summarizing, this is a very nice photo and it is a great pleasure to watch it.
