Hi Howard,
another great macro, with in my very amateur opinion a good use of the flash. Detail and composition are as per the norm...excellent. I like the little red dot relflecting the light on the end of his antennae too.

Sorry, Howard, I have to quote Emeril Lagasse here -- "Bam!" This baby just hits you with light and color. The vivid colors stand out from the black bg. I don't see how you can turn it up any more notches, though...

Dear Howard,

f/16 pays! Flash pays! I don't mind at all the black background, it puts all the emphasis on the two actors, the butterfly and the nectar source. You mastered (you calledl it "luck") the shadows well, there are almost none. Well done, thanks Howard.

Hi Howard,
bright yellow and orange colours glowing out of the darkness in a powerfully concentrated and minimalized composition. Wonderful clear details with perfect depth of field in a side view with half extended wings that are showing both sides in a well describing and aesthetically pleasing way. The mother-of-pearl spots on the butterfly's body and undersides of wings are shining like polished silver. Beautiful. Thank you, and a good week to you, too!
