I found these Wine Glass Mushrooms along a path in the Gondoca-Manzanillo Reserve, southeast Costa Rica.
I had gone out for birding, which was excellent, but was also blessed with a variety of butterfly sightings, Howler Monkeys, a Sloth, a plethora of various botanicals including these incredible mushrooms.
I've pursued more info on these but have not found anything to date. If you can help with ID or other info please share it.

Sandpiper2/Chris has given me the scientific name as well as common english names. He also has a good image on TN from his adventures in Thailand. I also discovered jcoowanitwong/Jitti Coowanitwong's image and notes here on TN also. Here is a bit more info on this fungi. Thanks guys.

Kingdom: Fungi

Phylum: Ascomycota (Sac Fungi)

Hello Richard,
south-east Costa Rica, and of course many other parts of the country, are a paradise for nature photographers. You captured this obviously small fungi probably in the forest understory under poor light conditions. In spite of f/2.8 and an exposure of 1/15 sec you achieve absolutely excellent sharpness. Congratulations!
Best wishes, Peter

Richard, This is interesting. Lovely. Watching it for the first time. Excellent Ganesh

Hi Richard
I shot the same species or very similar species in Thailand, its a Goblet Fungi (Cookeina sulcipes) a member of the Ascomycota division.
http://www.treknature.com/gallery/Asia/Thailand/photo78141.htm
Good composition DOF and sharpness.

Chris

Yes I was going back to remember that you have visited these countries...it didn't look like anything I have seen at 40-50 latitude. Sharp picture but of course color dominates this one..or rather duo which was a nice thought to add.
