This is a female Melanopus sp. not sure that it is the bivittatus which usually has clearer stripes markings on the legs. Your photo really contrasts nicely those arrows like stripes on the legs. Great photo, great focus.

Hi Kevin, well controlled exposure with good detail and colour, the composition is rather lacking due to the vertical positioning.
I have done a workshop rotating the image onto the diagonal, which I feel gives the image more compositional strength. I hope you like it.

Looking through your galery is just a pleasure. You have so many excellent shots. Even if they are not so much appreciated, I like grashoppers a lot. They have so interesting shapes and I think also they are photogenic. You prouve it with this fine picture. Excellent composition, very harmonious colours and a beautiful background.

Excellent capture of this Grasshopper in a fine pose on the reed. Looks a bit like our Marsh Grasshopper. Great sharpness and fine colours. Well done!
