canterbury flower - 3

taken outside canterbury cathedral, in one of the gardens.
cs2 work for b+w and contrast
i worked with levels in cs2 to create the black background, and the tones on the petals. these were only snap shots, so the background was a bit disruptive, which is why i thought i would try the black background, and i think they came out quite well. |

Hi Jennifer!
Thank you for having shared this little masterpiece of art with us. I think the subject is ideal for a b&w conversion and the black background suits the flower very well. The composition with the diagonal of the flower is perfect. I like the smooth lighting very much, but regret the burnt whites with the loss of details on the left petals. Fortunately, it's only a samll surface.
Kind regards
Markus
Hello Jennifer!
WOW! This is the most artistic photo from your gallery as for now! For the first view it looks more like some kind of ghost not a flowers :) Beautiful, very climatic composition with perfect details and control of light! It is also nice to read some words about the technique :)
Fantastic work - again!!! :)
Best greetings,
Radomir
