In the jeep? Okay, here we go:-)

Day 8 (8/20) in the 'Nasionale Krugerwildtuin'....
Restcamp Mopani
Photographed at 2327'S (Tropic of Capricorn) more or less...:-)
Along the S142 gravel road.
Ecozone: still in the Mopane and Red Bushwillow Woodlands.
Geology: Basement complex

The Nyala (Tragelaphus angasii)looks a lot like the Kudu at first sight but is distinguished in that the male's horns are shorter and twisted and the white bar between the eyes is broken in the middle.
Beautiful animals!

Thanks a lot for looking and see you tomorrow (day 9);-)

Through open car window. No beanbag...

a little crop
some touching up

Hi Annick,
It's so good the definition and colour saturation of the nyala.

Hallo Annick,
Groet,
Peter

Ha Annick,

Hi Annick

Another outstanding portrait you present us here!
This is indeed a splendid animal - similar to the kudu, but i would say this one is more beautiful, or at least more photogenic with all that natural contrast given by the stripes on its body.
The pose you managed to get here is impeccable, with it facing right to you! Due to that, you also have a sort of symertic here - on the face of the nyala. It even has a funny white mustach and another white line between the eyes :))
The patterns on its body and the colors that they have really make this a very beautiful animal.
You capture is simply flawless! Impeccable sharpness, perfect POV and a terrific DOF, all completed by excceptional exposure values.

BRAVO and TFS

Gorgeous capture, Annick. There is another contender for similarity - one that I just saw a few hours ago in the wild - the american white tail deer. Not in color and markings - but in shape - same long ears and neck, same huge eyes. Though you did much better than I did in capturing it with all the detail you managed to show us in a perfect light and perfectly balanced exposure. Bravo! Cheers, Klaus

Excellent Annick!
What a beauty.
