| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
| This is the largest of our Adonis [Ranunculaceae] species. The flower can reach 5 cm in diameter. The other species are much smaller, most of them are red. Remember the Greek mythology tale of Adonis, the handsome young man killed by a boar; his blood drops became the Adonis (or the related anemone) flowers... This one was photographed in the Lower Galilee in February. |
