Il genere CORDULIA e' agevolmente riconoscibile dalle
seguenti caratteristiche:
corpo completamente verde cupo metallico
ala posteriore con una sola venatura obliqua cubito anale
una solo specie in Europa
CORDULIA AENEA LINNEO,1758
(Downy Emerald)
la colorazione generale e' verde metalica,per divenire bronzea,con tonalita' rosse sulla parte anteriore del torace.
Le ali sono ialine con una piccola macchia giallo zafferano alla base delle ali,piu' marcata sulle posteriori.
Diffusa in Europa Asia fino al Giappone
In Italia in localita' alpine subalpine e padane
in Piemonte Lombardia e Tre Venezie

I'm pretty sure that this is a Downy Emerald :)
A decent shot of this truly iridescent dragonfly.
+++ I like the diagonal composition and the POV is very good.
Nice natural lighting that brings out the iridescent green on this beautiful dragonfly's body.
The DOF is good and blurs the BG nicely.
--- Lacks a bit of sharpness and detail but I think any software could sharpen it up and bring out some more of the details :)
Nevertheless, this is a great capture.

it's a beautiful dragon,
now I can see that it is different from the Emerald-dragon which I posted - also made in Italy. But mine has yellow parts on the tail.
