Cedar Waxwings Habitat
Preferred habitat consists of trees at the edge of wooded areas, or "open" forests, especially those that provide access to berry sources as well as water. Waxwings are attracted to the sound of running water, and love to bathe and drink from shallow creeks. In urban or suburban environments, waxwings often favor parkland with well-spaced trees, golf courses, cemeteries, or other landscaping with well-spaced trees, bushes that provide berries, and a water source, including fountains or birdbaths, is always a big plus.

Never saw one of them in the wild - the more I appreciate you showing it! :) Good detail - maybe a tad dark in the head area - but overall a good capture! Cheers, Klaus

Hi Doug, very nice capture of this lovely Waxwing. I like the warm autumnal colours in the image. Nice pov showing the markings on the back of the bird and the face profile with good catchlight on the eye.

Hello Doug,
Very nice image you have handled the light very well, good detail in the feathers, nice and Sharp, well framed, dof is spot-on, all the best Cheers Rick :)

Hello again Doug,
I think that this is a juvenile one because of its pale colors. This is a nice pose captured from this lovely specie. I have already told you that they are one of my favorite’s birds so I'm so glad every time I see one :)! Well done with good composition and control on this difficult exposure. Thanks!
Claudine
