Northern Mockingbird

Well, everyone knows this bird, but they still make great subjects.

I have started my photo trip and this guys was taken at Aransas NWR near Aransas Pass, TX.

Just to tell you a bit about the refuge:
It is a Whooping Crane stronghold, but I'll get to that on a later post. The refuge is 115,000-acre complex.
You can find live oaks, grasslands, and more wildilfe than you could imagine.
It has 400 bird species, a 16-mile auto tour, several hiking trails, observation towers, javelines, bobcats, deer, alligators and lots more.

I'll be posting images of my adventures there in the coming days, I hope you enjoy them, because I sure had a blast!

Hello Tabatha, great shot of this Mockingbird. The light in its eye is fantastic, the BG is perfect and the bird is sharp. Good job !

Hi Tabatha,
simple, elegant and wonderfully composed, this is a beautiful shot. The light is bright but not harsh and the pale blue background perfect. A lovely photo indeed.

Lovely picture - great composition and good natural colours and light. It's very difficult getting well exposed pictures agains a very light background, bout have managed perfectly.

A nicely composed shot of this mockingbird.
The plumage detail is very good and you have managed wonderful eye detail.
Excellent use of lighting the warm colours are beautiful.
