I once spent the better part of a weekend trying (in vain) to get one decent shot of a hairy woodpecker. So I envy your capture. You have maintained good detail and a nice shallow DOF too.

What a marvellous capture of this lovely woodpecker!! She is so cute! For her feathers and the snow on the tip of the trunk it looks rather cold round there. Magnificent sharp details and great DOF and composition.

Isn't she a cute one?! And she picked a good sized small trunk of branch to alight. Very sharp details in this aviary with the B&W's having wonderful patterns. I see it is a winter bird as well, you having taken it in Feb of this year. A nice choice if ASA/ISO so you wold not have anything of noise. Well done.

Hello Claude, I do like this shot of the Woodpecker, you did very well to get such fine detail on the plumage as these guys are usually way up high in the trees. Very nice pov and good light and colour, crisp and sharp. Great work.
