There is a certain quality to early morning fog that is enticing me to come into it further. In all my years living among the hoar frost and white frost I had never the time to picture it...perhaps it was my responsibilities as a parent early in the morning taking a child to the bus stop to go to school. If they miss a bus they cannot walk. Way too dangerous down a heavy iced remote hill with all the animals...not only were they afraid but I was in fear as well for them...we have not lost a child in 7 ... all grown now and I would like to keep it that way.

This day just the other actually, we had another of these fogs and frosts. Now sans, without children any longer in the home I am left with my thoughts and whether or not I should arise. It is a strange feeling. My wife and I have been responsible for children since 1968. Now we have no more in the house...it is quiet. Maybe that is why I focused so much on quiet the other day...but this day I heard the quiet and grabbed my camera. It was only a step outside the door...that is all....and it looked like an early Christmas card stationary to me...so I pass it on to you as an early Christmas Card as well...and if you do not celebrate the holiday, then accept it as a seasonal gift...from me to you my TN friends...It is a red maple tree bare of leaves but having a few seeds left now frozen.

Las pequeñas terminaciones (frutos) en las ramas dan un toque de color a la imagen.
Buena nota Bob.

Hello Bob,
Why not as a Christmas, if not a seasonal token! The reddish of the maple keys combines nicely with the frost on the tree to give that basic christmas color feeling. Personally I have been involved in the run-up to Christmas (Advent) as I sing in the local choir and both Swedish and Christmas carols in English feature.
So for me this well composed shot full of atmosphere is eminently suitable.
Thanks,
Ivan

Hi Bob, I don't know what it is with the colours of your photos, but each time I am stunned to look and see them. It's always very subtle, I don't know how you go out and get those colours, but I truly appreciate them. It's your photographer's eyes, it's a gift you have and thank you to share it. The light and the colours are always beautiful, there's always a pattern of some kind. Like this photo, the pattern of branches in frost, absolutely "ravissant". Your life has changed a lot, your notes are always interesting and human. Thanks for the note and also, thanks for the beautiful Christmas card.

Francine

Hello Bob,
Well Mr.Shannon excellently composed shot with lovely red helicopters covered with frost. I remember as a child my mom showing me how the seeds whirl like a helicopter blade when you threw them in the air. This memory brought to me by your image, thanks Bob.

Hello Bob

I know exactly what you are saying. The mornings when the frost or light snow covers everything,it is indescribable like millions of diamonds. We are lucky to witness it even if briefly.
The maple seeds stand out well ,their colour is striking against a fairly colourless backdrop.
The shot is well focused with a very good DOF.
The shot has a dreamy feel to it.The foreground tree is well focused against a backdrop of OOF branches.
The frost adds that little bit of sparkle.

There is warmth in that shot even if it's frozen, Bob ! You're an artist and that's the way to go ! Great shot with different layers of textures. Thanks !
