I see no tripod...but it makes me wonder how one could even get this without as free style tripod and then you end up defining by hand held which is optimum in these shots..You give this small bird quite a bit of personality in movement...Very nice.

Hi kevin.I have been trying to get this sort of shot for some time will have to try again with the canon. this is excellent very good timing with fine detila. natural colours. the wings look just spot on. well done TFS. good notes too.

Simply fantastic sir...possibly 5.6 would have bought in a bit more detail to rear of the wings and the tail feathers but then again that would have reduced much needed shutter speed and iso 800 to pick that up again isnt really realistic.
I really really admire your planning for these shots and the brilliant results you achieve with everyday gear that hasnt cost a fortune...Inspritaional!!

Hi Kevin, not only am I impressed by the sharpness and nice movement of the wings, I am impressed that you use a 105mm. You get close to these birds, it's incredible! You have a perfect lighting which makes great colours, the background is creamy and soft, and the POV fantastic: I love the glance the chickadee makes to the lens. Thanks again,

Hello Kevin, wow you have fantastic shots in your gallery. These are the kind of shots I would like to take, but I still sometimes have problems getting the right settings at the right moment. A beautiful rendition with great focus, colour and action. the wings are beautiful and very rarely seen like this on TN.

You have definitely mastered a way to shoot those birds in flight. You've done an amazing job. I tried a few times but found it extremely difficult to accomplish. Your work proves that it is possible so I'll keep trying :)
