| Not sure what type of bee this huge bee is, but found him on the agapanthus this morning. I have reduced the size of this photo for posting and have cropped the original. |

Hello Jt,
very good shot of beautiful bee.
Probably it belongs to the family Scoliidae.
Best wishes,

Hi Tara,
Many thanks for the feedback always appreciated, this is an excellent shot, superb detail right down to the hairs on the legs, wonderful colours, and perfect exposure in the petals of the flowers, well framed and composed, lovely work.
Cheers Rick :)

You have some good close-up shots of your bees JT. Amazing sharpness here, very good colours and clarity - well done

Hello Tara,
I notice you joined TN recently.
Please accept my belated welcome.
This is a very good close-up shot of a bee. The focus is sharp and the colours are quite natural and attractive.
While cropping, we try to leave more space in the direction in which the head of the subject is turned (if it is an insect or animal in the picture); in the case of flowers etc, we keep the main subject off-centre.
In your case, you have left more space behind the subject. Maybe you wanted to retain the entire white flower. Quite reasonable. While shooting a picture, you can quickly assess the frame from this perspective too so that you have lot of freedom to be liberal in cropping.
Hope you would not take my humble advice as negative criticism.
