hello, i have other photos taken last winter and spring
i will post them each 2 or 3 days

this photo taken in Boisé Papineau is the Eastern Screech-Owl,
in this forest i kno 2 places where there is
in the tree's holes Eastern Screech-Owls,

when last winter i had my new camera and started
to go to Boisé Papineau, a photographer saw me
and tell to follow him he will show me a place
where i can found the owl on the tree hole

it was (it is) on a tree hole very high on the tree,
it is the one where Claudine took her photo
http://www.treknature.com/gallery/photo143147.htm

(last winter) few days after a walker
(man walking) (randonneur in french)
saw me with my camera and he told me too
« follow me, i will show you a tree hole
where there is the owl on the hole »

it is the tree and the owl of this photo here,
the tree it is not very high, perfect for my camera

this photo was taken in jpeg to double my 300mm zoom
there is no motion on the image but you will see that
i took the photo in 1/1000seconds just because
i don't have image stabilizer when i zoom
(and here i was doubling the zoom

here an excellent website on the Eastern Screech-Owl :

Salut Asbed,

What luck to be shown such a great subject. It is wonderful how this owl fills up the hole. You did well to capture it with your camera.

Hi Asbed

Superb shot - it almost seems like an abstract! The DOF is very good - composition too.

James

The BG is not natural! Do you use a noise filter?

Bonjour Asbed,
Nice capture of an Eastern Screech Owl in its tree nesting hole in the early spring. The dead birch tree and the owl are sharply presented and well composed in this image.
Thanks for sharing this one,
Best wishes, Ivan

Salut Asbed
Tres belle photo.Tu as sue profiter de l'excellente lumiere.

Lise
