[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
OK, not the best photo I've ever taken but I had to run out of my office today as soon as UPS delivered my new lens and take a photo of SOMETHING! I didn't have the tripod available so this was free-handed. I'm not the steadiest person in the world and this new mega-zoom is not very forgiving with shakiness.

Now for Cool Fact from birds.cornell.edu:

Cool Facts

* The House Sparrow was introduced into Brooklyn, New York, in 1851. By 1900 it had spread to the Rocky Mountains. Its spread throughout the West was aided by additional introductions in San Francisco, California, and Salt Lake City, Utah.

* The House Sparrow has been present in North America long enough for evolution to have influenced their morphology. Populations in the north are larger than those in the south, as is generally true for native species (a relationship known as Bergman's Rule).

* Although not a water bird, the House Sparrow can swim if it needs to, such as to escape a predator. Sparrows caught in a trap over a water dish tried to escape by diving into the water and swimming underwater from one part of the trap to another.

* The House Sparrow is a frequent dust bather. It throws soil and dust over its body feathers, just as if it were bathing with water.

Hi Angelina

Congratulations on your new lense - I know the feeling well! I like this type of shot anyway - and to be honest - most of my shots are like this, but at least with this sort of shot you know you were there!!

James

Too confused in the BG...

Bye,
Andrea

Hi Angelina,
A beautiful capture of this couple. Very natural composition and good details. In our city it is some what nearly extinct species. Thanks a lot for sharing.

Good morning Angy!
well congratulations on your new lens!!
I will be looking forward to some super zoomed in photos :)
This is a pretty good shot seeing as you were probably shaking with excitement!!
Great POV and composition.
Well done :D
Thanks,
Joe

He he.....You did in fact do it Asbed...I sometimes think everyone knows what everyone else does...scary but in a funny way. Angle! A great picture with a nice new lens...and honestly...we have talked about this lens before you bought it,but had I seen the kind of quality it gives you and you have had it only under an hour when you took the picture..and did it hand held...I am quite envious....and I am also very glad you bought it...and I am glad Asbed noticed it all too!:-)

I have to laugh. I gave Asbed my last 2 points today... so in a a way he beat me twice...but let me guess....I will be back later on after midnight sometime:-) Thanks for getting so excited!!! All of this makes my day and to anyone who has not downloaded Luc's Xmas present for us....PLEASE do it...he is a talented guy who surprised me very much!

Una interesante imagen con muy buenos detalles. Los pajarillos sorprendidos por una paparazzi...je
Buena nota.
Saludos, JL.

Hi Angy,

Congratulations on your new lens. I'm sure you will master it soon. It's a nice picture of this couple but I think I would have cropped it and just left the male. He is soooooo good.

Jane

Hello Angelina,
I can understand your excitement and this is not too bad at all. This is how we normally see them after all and focus is sharp on the
male. Lovely colours too. Best of luck with your new toy!
TFS and regards, Ulla

Hello Angelina, great moment ! Very good picture of this couple, well composed and fine details, well done ! Happy new Year !

Mario

Hi Angelina,
I know how it is to be excited about trying out a new lens for the first time as I was the same way when I got my 100-400mm lens.I think you have dne reasonably well in this capture even without a tripod and the thing is not the focus so much but the noise in the image.I have tried a workshop for this one with my take on your little sparrows. To date I have yet to take any wildlife photos using a tripod and the reason is because I don't like to be encumbered when the action is dynamic. Thanks for sharing and a now belated happy new year to you and all the best. Bob
