Paroaria gularis, native to South America. A quick small bird at only about 6 inches, it's hard to actually catch him sitting still. This one flew off right after I took the shot.

The focus on the eye and the shadows are beautiful. Thanks for sharing!

I really like how the shrubbery around the bird is all blurred; serves to further emphasize the focus on the cardinal. Very nice picture!
