[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The Arabian Oryx (Oryx leucoryx), the smallest member of Oryx genus, is one of the most desert adapted mammal all over the world.
Arabian Oryx were hunted to extinction in the wild by 1972. Due to an international efforts, began in Phoenix Zoo, Arizona, there are now wild reintroduced herds, in Arabic Peninsula (Saudi Arabia), the Persian Gulf Emirates (Oman, Abu Dhabi), Jordan and Israel. The Origin of the wild population in Israel, is the reproduction groups of Yotvata Hai-Bar (Wildlife Preserve) Nature Reserve, southern Negev Desert.
Here we see a courting behaviour in Yotvata. The male (left) and the same looked female, are moving in circles, while the female head is held slightly lower than the male head. In this case, the female interrupted the ritual and ran away.

These animals are so beautiful and I can't recall having seen them before! Excellent capture showing sharp details and fine colours. Very interesting and a well-timed capture!

What a wonderful photo showcasing those fantastic horns! I had not realized just how long they are in comparison to the height of the animal. They seem almost too long to be an effective weapon... though I can see where they could do real damage! It is nice to see them in the natural environment.

Interesting contents. This species are photographed in their natural habitat.
I'm a bit surprised both female as well as male have horns.
The female interrupted the ritual...poor guy;-)

What a beatiful ruminant! Thanks. Indeedly I am a rumen protozoologist and I think its rumen contents contains very endemic protozoon species since it is also restricted the area which you mentioned.

Sadly I don't get much of a chance to see this area of the country and there is obviously a lot to see.Nice how you caught a pair here together.The dust around their legs showing their movement together.Did a bit of a workshop to up the contrast.Have a good week.
