[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is to complement Hervé’s posting of a few days ago (www.treknature.com/gallery/photo147272.htm). This is a macro of an early bloom of the shrub; the flower is about 10 mm in diameter. It seems that the flowers of our fringed rue (Ruta chalepensis) are more bright-yellow than the ones from France.

Ruta gave its name to the Rutaceae, a family that includes the citrus trees. The leaves, which are very aromatic (many people dislike the smell) are used in our area (among other things) as a spice for black olives. The leaves are food to the caterpillars of the swallow-tail butterfly.

Hi Ishi,
The image is lacking a bit in quality but what caught my eye is the unusual look of the flower. Its ragged look makes it look as if it is almost at deaths door and yet i guess this is its natural look.Thanks....interesting.
Regards, David

Hello Ishi,
I was reading your interesting note and I guess you have made a right decision in 2007 to get that macro lens. My digital experience started with Coolpix too.
I've seen your gallery and you have composed beautiful shot of flowers. This one is unique and well managed in depth and details I like it and well done.
Best regards,
Jusni
p/s: hope you don't mind me asking if you are a Palestinian living in Israel since you mentioned it in your critique.

Hello Ishi,
Very Nice. TFS.

Hi Ishi,
Interesting plant and very beautifull flower. I never seen it before. TFS.

Bonjour Ishi,
Très beau cliché pour cette rue, avec un beau détail sur la fleur et sur les bractées, qui sont un élément discret mais important pour la détermination.
Amicalement,
Hervé
