Eublepharis angramainyu (Western Leopard Gecko)

The leopard gecko, Eublepharis angramainyu ranges in western foothills of Zagros Mountains and Mesopotamian plain in Iran and Iraq, and NE Syria (Khabur River Region, near the Iraq-Syria border) and Turkey (Birecik, Sanliurfa province) with a vertical distribution between 300 and 1000 m. It inhabits stony hills and ruins. It is a nocturnal lizard and can be seen most often one hour before midnight; they feed on crickets among stones, scorpions, solpugids, large spiders and beetles, also on small geckos of the same and other species; egg laying occurs from end of May to the beginning of June. You could reach more additional knowledge on Leopard geckos visiting my related web site. The specimen in photo collected from a new locality, Bilekli near the previous known localities (Çiçekalan & Arsanli).
I dedicate this photo to my close friend, professional colleague, and also my supervisor on photography, Professor Emeritus Mehmet Kutsay ATATÜR.

Bayram merhaba,
Selamlar.
Mustafa

Hola Bayram,
Thank you with my gratitudes for your kind dedication! You present us with a perfect specimen of that rare gecko, your lighting, POV and DOF are quite good and the composition eye pleasing. I almost recognize those dried mosses in the BG from somewhere! Good work indeed.
Mehmet

And hello again :)
As you can see, I really like your gallery :) And even if not every picture was/will be commented today - I'll be back :)
This gecko is fantastic! I like natural pose of animal, very good sharpness, details and depth of field. It is seen that photography of reptiles and amphibians is not only a hobby for you, but also a profession!
By the way, how many reptile species is known from Turkey???
