Incredible image. What a beautiful bird. It's feathers looks like a crocheted shawl. Lovely presentation. This is such a dignified bird, really impressive. I really like the feathers, the positive look in the eye and that remarkable paws. I am actually speechless. One tend to think you have seen all the beautiful birds, then another one arrives on the gallery and take your breath away like this one of yours. Like always this was a pleasure to look at. Thanks for sharing and well done.

Excellent rare capture of a bittern in flight. In fact I don't think I've seen a shot of a bittern in flight before. As you say they are a rare bird everywhere.

Wow! It is not everyday that we can see a splendid bittern in flight like this one! You got a great POV and, with a speed of 1/2000s, you perfectly froze the wings...

The only thing is that you put a little bit too much sharpness on the picture (visible by the thin white line around the head)...

But this image is really impressive!

I missed this great in-flight shot of a Bittern. The POV sharply showing the wing pattern and the lighting are great. The Bittern is not an easy bird to photograph, though one occasionally has the luck to see it flying. You took the opportunity well and made an excellent capture.

There are some in Netherlands. Once, we got -20 celcius for 2 weeks long. This has been so deadly for them. That was the only time I could spot some ... but all dead unfortunately. It is a blessing to spot such a magnificent bird alive. I believe they are very shy. You must be fast to have been able to manage such a capture.
