| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
This otter was seen running around a butterfly sanctuary enclosure in Phuket, Thailand. I am unsure if it was rescued from the wild or if it could come and go as it pleased. I think it is a Eurasian Otter, but as this was my first ever sighting of an otter I really have little confidence that this is the species. The Eurasian Otter is not naturally occurring in Thailand so it must have been kept as a pet. The whole time it was making a high pitched squeaking sound and was playing in a pond. I was able to walk up to it and could have touched it if I wanted to but it had sharp teeth and became defensive if I got closer than a metre. Interesting animal.

Hello Matt, nice sharp shot of this otter. Love that eye and those whiskers. With this exposure you have great light while separating him nicely from his background and giving good colour. The close and personal approach works well here giving us a great overall presentation.
Thanks, John

Hi Matt, A beautifully sharp and clear photo of this otter which move fast so you did well to get this one so stable. The details of the fur are complete. TFS. Murray.
