Hi James,
A fascinating picture from the plane. Excellent western USA colors and sharp sharp details. A wonderful view of the merging rivers which you cannot see on a car trip.

Hi James. What a sight to have seen. Even from a plane you still have managed to captured good detail in the layers of the earth. you could only see this amazing view from the air. good natural colours. well done TFS.

Hello James,
Very good work, James.
You must have been flying very low to get this result with your wide angle?
I'm surprised about the sharpness:
a. slow shutter speed
b. photographed through glass (airplane)
Furthermore the composition is excellent and the light very beautiful.
Well done
TFS

Hi James
Another aerial masterpiece from you, my friend!
The composition here is absolutely amazing and the 3D effect of the shot is fantastic!
The confluence of the two rivers is very well captured here and well integrated in the scene - i mean one can see clearly the two of them flowing separately at the beginning and then together.
Great work and, needless to say, great note!
Bravo and TFS
Horia
PS: as Romanian is very much based on old Latin, confluence in my language is "confluenta" :))

Hello James,
Awesome view of this mighty place!

I wouldn't have thought that 1/200 would be fast enough for a moving shot. It must have been a smooth flight. It is a very interesting image. I love how the lack of vegetation in the southwest exposes the bare bones of geology. It's a high quality "textbook image".

Hello James,
A different point of view and the result is amazing!
The angle of light works well in dding life to the scenery, and the details capøtured are first class...
Interesting composition with the winding river, where I count several boats!
Greetings,
Pablo -
Hi James, I like the shot, you've got a nice top down view of the confluence here, with great detail of the rivers themselves and the surrounding rock cuts. You can even pick out where the meandering is setting up sandbars in the water.
What I like even more than the shot itself though is the concept, of renting time on a plane to go out and get shots like this. This gives point of view a whole new meaning. You've used a mid-range zoom for this shot, that would have been my first mistake, I probably would have been looking for 100+, and I'm guessing that speed (for vibration) is more important than aperture, since you certainly have distance covered. Any thing else I should be considering for this type of shot?
Thanks, John

Hello James!
A very unusual and unique POV, and a very beauty too. We have not too many posibilities to look at canyons from "the bird view".
Very nice work!
Friendly yours,
Radomir
