Green Lynx Spider - Peucetia viridans - female with egg sac
Size: 38mm (1 1/2") to outside of legs
This female Green Lynx is protecting her egg sac. Green Lynx spiders aren't aggressive but she didn't like me poking around while she had her eggs there. I monitored this spider and the eggs until they hatched. There were probably around 10 to 15 babies eventually emerged from the sac. She stayed around and protected them until they finally went out on their own. |
