here we have an american corn snake busy hatching. the shell of the egg is leathery. if you look carefuly you will see "cuts" in the shell. the hatchling has a "tooth" on the tip of his snout to slice the shell.
picture was taken with my old sony H1.
the black X marks are just markers used to keep the eggs in the same position as they were laid in or the snaklings will drown. |
