Clicked this elephant herd at chaur (grassland) of Dhikala close to Ramganga river at Jim Corbett National Park. I wish I could capture the entire herd of magnificient near 80 elephants, but this is all I could capture in one shot with my telescopic zoom Nikkor AF 80-200 f/2.8D ED by Nikon during dusk around 6PM.
In a pachyderm family, calves are the most enjoyable to watch. Here one should not forget that an elephant herd with calves is perhaps the most dangerous encounter in the wild, for elephants are possessive of their young. There have been many instances when they charge at the jeep. So a safe distance from the herd is always advisable.

Ranjan,
Very nice panoramic capture of these beautiful elephants!
I've got something similar, which I'll post shortly.
very well done!
Cheers!
Goldy
very nice how you did the panoramic with the composition, it looks a little out of focus to me
