I had today off from work and even though the lighting outside was very poor at times,I decided to try and see what I might get in the way of photos even with poor light. This bald eagle was photoed east of the Center street bridge not far from where I got my mergansers of my most recent uploads. There were three adult eagles in the area today soaring in the sky and giving the ducks on the river a reason to be very nervous, poor ducks.I now know of two areas where I can go to get eagle photos and the area of this shot is only 10 minutes walk from where I live.In these same woods a couple of days ago I also got some photos of mule deer and some more chickadee photos.I hope you like this photo that was taken in dull light as I let nothing stop me from trying.PP was done with Paint.Net. Hé Hé Bob, you're lucky to even get that close to those noble beings! What a nice inflight movement you captured, with much details... they are huge birds, look at the wingspan, it's even hard to place into the frame of a photograph. We feel the eagle's strength in his wings. Light is dim, too many branches in the back but let me tell you, what a sight you share with us today! Your quest is starting to reward you. Superb!

Impressive! This is a very good eagle Photo! Caught it in mid flight! From the influence of TrekNature, I been trying to get some bird photos my self, and they are pretty hard. Well Done! Cheers Josh Lewis.

Hi Bob,
Mate a pat on the back for this one, great capture what I would give to see this in the wild, Ok the dull light didn’t help but still a great image, and that fierce look in this bird of prey eye is stunning, nice work sir, all the best Cheers Rick :)

wonderful Bob , great shot , great action , considering the weather here today , it is a fine photo. makes me wish I had been following you around rather than baking cookies :-D

we still have some time with the eagles here , seen a few on my way home today , they where flying quite high , right around the area your describing , perhaps a bit further out , likely the same birds. with your persistence you will surely get the one your looking for , hope to post one myself ;-)

regards

Art

Hello Bob. You have done well here capturing bird in flight. I have little success yet and your image is well focused exposing the details very well. Best regards and well done. Jusni

Man guy...You were a fraction of a second off...and I mean it was just a stroke of luck one way or the other...What a drama..and in the trees as well....it really makes no dif if this is off a bit in focus...It can be fixed but it cannot be replaced..This is a gem of a picture....you are truly lucky and well...just danged good luck I guess....Neat!

Bonjour Bob,

Bravo pour cette belle prise. La pose de l'oiseau est dinamique et le timing est parfait.
Merci pour le partage.

Not an easy shot to be sure: fast action, dark subject against a bright sky, twigs and branches to get in the way etc. etc. You did capture the moment though. I especially like those taloned feet. What a grip s/he must have! How cool to have these magnificent birds so nearby. I'll be waiting for a whole series of shots. Do you think they will nest there?

Great inflight action shot

Hello Bob,
Interesting in-flight capture!
Action is well captured , and it seems to me like this is part of an attack action...
Great composition, fine details!

Hi Bob.
Superb action, in-flight picture of a majestic bird. Great timing, amazing framing and composition, perfect DOF and exposure parameters. Despite the light BG dark plumage of the bird is exposed very well. My kind regards and TFS.
Alexei.

Hi Bob,
Quelle merveille, tellement impressionnant, grandiose, il est magnifique avec cette tête tout en focus en pleine action, très belle prise.
Merci
Marie

hello Bob

what a great chance you have to leave not far
from where are these Eagles,

WOW ! SUPERB image shooted at the best moment of the fly,
fine POV and framing, great sharpness and details,
personnaly for me with a GREAT shots like this one,
if the light or luminosity is not the best, it goes secondary,
the main thing of the shot is that great flight of the eagle
and your superb moment to shoot it in photo, TFS

Hello Bob,
Darn fine image considering the light my friend. Look at the business end of his feet, killing machine extraordinaire. Bob if they are frequenting an area, have you ever given though to a blind and some road kill as bait now that it's warming up, remember they are scavengers.
