[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Back in January I showed the very early bloom of Ruta chalepensis [Rutaceae]. Here is the plant in full bloom. Note the fringed petals, the very long anthers and the characteristic ovary, not unlike what you see in flowers of citrus trees, which belong to the same family.

The leaves have very pungent scent, liked by some, hated by others. They are excellent for adding flavor black olives!

No Brasil, essa planta se chama "arruda", e é bastante usada na medicina natural... a infusão das folhas dessa planta funciona como abortivo. A planta tbém faz parte da mística de algumas religiões presentes aqui, como a umbanda, e a crença indígena.
