This is a beautiful close up, with vibrant colours, details that are so fine and the quality very sharp. I like the clarity of the eye, nice big drop of water on its eye-catching beak... the duck feels very smooth to touch with the water droplets all over it...

I like the composition with the tight crop, excellent POV and fine pose
The details are lovely and sharp, I really like the water droplets on the Ducks head and dropping from the bill

Difficult to do better I think. Technically perfect. The detail is wonderful. We can even see the little "teeth" on the beak. Splendid light and colours.

The timing of your profile shot with the elongated drip off the beak is just perfect too :)
I've seen first hand from you what the Canon 300mm F/2.8 can produce.
It may be awhile, but it will be the next lens I purchase..
