Hello again, I couldn't resist posting this lovely American Goldfinch as the birds outside sing along and I have seen some of them yesterday. I also saw, for the first time, the American Robin... it's about time!

The sun is shining outside, the cats ramble and the dog is running after them, having fun. It's about 3 degrees in the shadow and it's going to raise with the sun which is warming up the atmosphere.

I will be spending the day outside, on the balcony because the snow isn't completely melted and the backyard is still covered at 100%. I cannot stand it anymore, I want to go out!

This nice male Goldfinch is changing his plumage, as you can tell. It's in the month of May last year and I wonder if it's a juvenile or simply a male getting dressed. The bright yellow will cover this bird, shining while flying, they are such beautiful birds. Then the Common Redpolls will leave. Some of them have left already as the feeders don't empty as fast as it used to.

I wish you a beautiful day and hope you enjoy the sun!

Francine

You are right what lovely colours that are perfectly sharp. These are shown up even better by your intriguiing BG, how did you get that effect ?

Hello Francine,
Lovely capture of this beautiful bird in its bright yellow and black plumage. Great focus on the eye and fine sharp details. I fully understand your urge to go outside - the long cold and dark winters are awful!
TFS and cheers, Ulla

Stunning colors and the soft background really brings him into focus. This is a beautiful shot. I have to hunt these guys down because they don't like the feed I keep in my feeder. Nice sharp colors, and I like the piece of seed about to slip from his beak.

Hello Francine
Cripes...You have some glorious photos in your back catalogue..The colours and sharpness are just superb..The bg is proper amazing!!

Hi Francine

Lovely shot of the beautiful American Goldfinch, its amazing that these colours are just for breeding time.
Nicely composed with a good POv and I like the curious look you have captured on the birds face.
Good details and colours too, I'm adding him to my theme, Yellow Birds.

Hola Francine:

Saludos.

Hello Francine,
The yellow of this American Goldfinch is superb, details are perfect but : Le "perchoir" où se situe l'oiseau n'est pas très naturel.

Hi Francine!

I can smell the spring atmosphere through your notes as if I would personally be outside. I still have to wait a couple of hours for that...

With these words I also want to say that your picture respires spring: the colours are joyful and the bird is changing its plumage, preparing itself for the changing season. Moreover, the very artistic background adds to the value of the picture.

Kind regards

Markus
