| When Josh (joshlewis) and I were at the summit of Mt. Pugh, a curious marmot crawled out from under a rock a few feet away, having had no apparent interactions with humans before. It looked at us with fascination, before crawling back into its hole again. |

Hi Mark,
A warm welcome to TN!
What a cute marmot. You certainly got a chance to take a close look at him, just as he did you. : P
The light is really good, and it is an excellent POV.
He looks like he has two kinds of fur. Do you think he is in the middle of molting from his winter coat to his summer one?
You have put him smack in the middle of the picture. What do you think about cropping the shot so that he is more in the lower right hand corner (rule of thirds)? Maybe that would give him more space to look into... and it would minimize the distraction of the blurry rock that is there now. Just a thought.
Thanks for posting.

Hi Mark,
what a great shot of this Marmot!
You were lucky to have such a close encounter and then skilled to have captured it so well!
This fella looks great amongst the granite!
Superb sharpness, detail and clarity.
Nice POV.
What camera do you use?
Well done!

Great capture of this marmot Mark. Looks like you caught him right before he dove for cover. Nice image, good natural colours and composed very well.
We don't have these little guys here in Ohio, but we do have groundhogs which are similar in appearance.

Wonderful Marmot! I love this guy! Its a shame my memory card broke on this hike, or else I would have many many more flower photos, and this marmot... Well anyways, congrats. Cheers Josh Lewis! :-D
