Hello,

Another photo, another specie from my trip to the Southern Bükk (ca. 60-70 kilometers from my hometown): Mycena renati. It's a frequent specie, growing in colonies on dead trees.

Photo was taken in a very special and unique place named "Stone Valley", near the village of Cserépváralja. Bükk mountains is mostly built up from limestone, but there was a couple of smaller volcanos here in the myocene era, so in and around this valley everything (stones, ground etc.) is very different than the majority of Bükk.

No serious PP at all, but I hope You like the image this way. Thanx for stopping by and commenting.

I definately like the same kind of fungi artistic photos that you like, MF. Great use of available light on this one.
Have you ever tryed to use a paper handkerchief (or similar white surface) as a reflector? I thik in this case it would have added just the bit of light to get the one on the left out of the total darkness :)
Nevertheless it is very lovely this way too.

Hi Baratom Laszlo, an impressive macro of these Mycena with wonderful composition with great POV and DOF and clarity. Today i found an captured a white and gelatinous fungi on a decayed tree trunk, but i could not find its id. i checked your gallery but i could not find it.
