The Little Tern can be identified by its small size, ridiculously short tail and almost frantic, jerky wing action. The neat white forehead and black-tipped yellow bill are diagnostic. The outer couple of primaries are conspicuously blacker than in other terns.

Breeds on sandy or shingle beaches.
Between 20-22,000 pairs breed in Europe. The largest population is thought to be in Turkey (5 000-15 000 breeding pairs).

Nice capture Okan, a superb image very clear and shows this mating ritual well.
I think it would of made a good Long / Wide post. it would of ment cropping half the hight, but at a ratio of 2.5 - 1 it automatically allows you to post a linked much larger image. View here for a sample of such an image

Lovely composition and a very striking pose from these two. Great shot! Very well done.

Very attractive shot, Okan. On top of these elegant birds, I particularly like the action you've caught very well and the grey BG. Framing them low on the frame is also a good point.
