herb robert Geranium robertianum
Other names: Death-come-quickly, Robin's eye, Robin hood, Robin-i'-th'-hedge, Stinking Bob, Stinker Bobs, Wren flower
Family: Geraniaceae
Usually a biennial which prefers shady spots and spreads by seed. It is a native of Europe, Asia and North Africa, but is considered an invasive weed in parts of North America where it may have been introduced as a garden plant or for its medicinal properties. The stems can be tinged with red and sprawl around reaching up to 50cm high. The deeply-lobed fern-like leaves turn a firey red in the autumn. The five-petaled, pink flowers appear from May to October.
An infusion of the whole top-growth has been used as a diuretic and a tonic; also as a remedy for dysentery, toothache and nosebleeds. It has antiseptic and styptic effects so can be used to treat wounds. The odour of the leaves when crushed can be rubbed on the body to repel mosquitoes and midges.
there you go. i used a blur filter on the front of my lens and positioned the center clear circle more or less over the flower for effect. |

Don't mind a bit of Herb Robert, this is a pretty one, it is a soft and delicate flower, and you have made this look natural and delicate. I don't know if the blur lens is advantageous or not, but the overall image is pleasing.

Hi Sue again.
I am impressed with beautifulness of the picture. Both flower and BG are reflected by the best way. You managed to reach a very impressive smooth BG. Its pattern is really amazing. Image of the flower with fine colour reproduction and plenty attractive details is looked perfectly too. Bravo.
