A lesser kestrel (Falco naumanni)on a stop-over site migration in the Venetian country.
This rare falcon is a quite rare migrant in NE Italy.

Un bel maschio di GRILLAIO ripreso nella Bonifica di Loncon,purtroppo in controluce.
Da notare il cappuccio grigio privo di mustaccio,le parti inferiori con rada machiettatura e le timoniere centrali che sporgono conferendo alla coda il caratteristico disegno a cuneo.Visibili anche le unghie chiare.
Questo soggetto si muove assieme a due falchi cuculi ed ho notato che ha spesso l'abitudine di rubare le prede ai falchi cuculi,inseguendo in particolare la femmina.

actually a nice capture, i really like how the pretty kestrel is hanging on to the small tree, but it could be a little brighter,
the bird could be a little more off-centered and the focus sharper. nice job as it is a rare visitor & best wishes, thor.
