A beautifully composed scene showing the living sand. I love the dead tree with the wonderful curve and branches. You have positioned it in the perfect place. The colors of the sand and sky are beautiful. I agree with you - the simplicity of this picture is wonderful.

I have a great fascination for trees which reside in and near sand. In Northern California..I have both seen and imaged some beautiful wind and seascaped cypress trees...In normal times and location they are already unusual but when growing over a period of years on the shore, they tend to take on a whole different personality. And although you image here is only of one tree..I am thinking there was a time when more were present...and this one alone remaining...or who knows...it is up to science I suppose... Very nice! A good study in the life of trees which I love so very much.

A good theme for presentation through this composition Gert. It's amazing how they survive the vagaries of weather. A great landscape with wonderful colours and details that capture the essence of nature.Very well done.

Prachtig shot van het kootwijkerzand. Het zou zomaar ergens een woestijn kunnen zijn, zeker met zo'n mooie blauwe lucht.
Goede compositie met de boom aan de rechterkant van het frame.
