[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Another beautiful fungi from the Arnold River Reserve near Greymouth. As mentioned in the previous posts, there were fungi everywhere and we photographed in excess of 15 species. I’m reasonably sure this one is a yellow waxgill (Hygrocybe julietae), a delicate fungi that grow to a height of 50mm with a stipe (stem) of 3mm diameter and a pileus (cap) of 20mm. They are endemic to New Zealand where they are found on the forest floor in moist northofagus and broad-leaved forest.

Shot in super-macro mode with natural light on a mini-tripod.

Hallo Chris
You’re fungi photographs that you have been placing lately is really remarkable, and this very looooooooooooong yellow one is no exception. I do not have much knowledge about fungi and because of that I prefer not to give my comments on these kinds of postings. I can however not let this beauty pass without adding my little comment for what it is worth. A well composed image with good and clear details. The colour of the plants emphasise the details and colour of the fungi even more. A splendid image indeed. Trek Nature is without a doubt a very interesting and most educational site. Not a day will pass that I don't see or learn something new. Thanks for sharing and enjoy your day.
