This was the wildest sight today as I was driving in a suburban area of town. I saw this young green heron perched on the power lines over a very small creek behind the houses. I got out of the car to get a closer look and also saw a snowy egret hunting in the water. Very strange to see both of them in such a peopled area...especially the heron. Anyway - it was a horribly grey day today, so I tried to boost color a bit here. Hopefully doesn't look like I over-did it, but the sky still looks so bright white to me... hope you enjoy!

Penny,
That's an interesting shot you've got here. I really like how this heron seems to be in a relaxed stance. I've never seen it in such a pose before.
I can see that the lighting wasn't on your side in this shot. The white sky looks a bit blown out but otherwise you'd never get the detail on the bird. (Dark vs white is never easy ...) You had to deal with tough conditions in this one but the pose is well worth the effort. Great work.
Best Regards,
Martin
