Perfect capture of your first damselfly. I have not seen them in Holland yet, but it will not be for long I think.
The composition and pov are great. Also very good focus/sharpness on the entire damselfly. Great colours and light.

A damselfly is a damselfly (-:, but this damselfly is a beautiful species. Razorsharp and ful of fine details. Beautiful colors. I like the diagonal compo. POV, DOF and BG are oké. Regards and TFS BOB

Hello Ulla,
you achieved a very good contrast and differnetiation between fore- and background.
The 'main players' are presented well focused and with high sharpness while the background
structures are sufficiently blurred and constitute a smooth non-noisy contrast.
The details of the damselfly are nicely visible as are the leaf surfaces.
A brilliant and well-composed picture.

As compared to some of you more delicate flowers...this one is fine needlepoint alike...Sharp very sharp...which is something beyond my present capability in photos..at least my eye and combined with my mediocre lens....but it's okay because we have good folk like you to show us closer and more clearly..well done Ulla!

Hello Ulla

Very nice picture of this Large Red Damselfly. Looks like a male. Apart from the abdomenal appendage you can know the femal on the black stripe running all the way on top of the abdomen. I think it is a young male as the colours are not really deep red yet. I have not seen any here yet but they will come soon.

Apart from that it is a very nice picture. the handling of light and focus is perfect with plenty of details all over the damselfly and a well blurred background to set it off nicely. Not to forget the perfect composition - I do like the diagonal very much as well as the space in front of the damselfly.

All over a very nice job that you can be proud of.

Sorry I missed out on #400, but can I make up by congratulating you on #401 (chuckle)? The choice for "On the Post" was spot-on for a great milestone. May there still be many more.

This is a wonderful capture of a beautiful Large Red. We will miss the birds, but I am sure you will keep us happy with the D&D postings. With this kind of quality, who will complain? I like the diagonal position of the damsel, the amazing details, the superb colour tones, the great DOF, the OOF and isolated BG, and the simplicity of the shot which only shows the subject and the leaves which it perched on.

A razor sharp "damsel" image on equally detailed tiny leaves which provide a nice color contrast, all against a blurry BG, framed within a vertical composition. A pure beauty my friend.
