Dovesfoot Cranebill. Geranium molle.

I hope this is a Dovesfoot Cranesbill! this particular plant has caused me considerable trouble to image, it was very difficult to get to, and very awkward to get the camera set-up to photograph it. It is growing under a spiny gorse bush, by the side of a road, about half a metre from the carriageway. It was also very windy and the light was poor.. still, these things were sent to try us!!

This tiny flower is about 6mm across, rather insipid pink/purple, but the leaves and surrounding flora was "hard" green, not very forgiving. I had tried flash, but it was too harsh and the colours just looked unnatural, so "natural" light was used.

This image has not turned out as good as I had hoped for, the colours were the main problem, to get the detail I wanted, the colours just seemed to "wash out" resulting in a flat pale image, to keep the colouration natural, has resulted in poorer focus and detail.

I have several versions of this, all with different settings etc,and all are lacking something!!

The fine line has not been drawn!! still, can't win them all!!! must try harder next time!!!

I hope to get a better version of this plant soon, hopefully to a better standard..
I am a bit disappointed with this, but, I will get it perfect next time!!!

Oh, just had another good look at the original version, and I can see where I went wrong.......

Hello Howard,
The subdued lighting you were working with makes this a very interesting image. I like it a lot Howard, I think your too hard on yourself, this is an outstanding image my friend.

Hi Howard , I think your color and detail both turned out good for the lighting , I sure can relate to wind playing up a bit when trying for a macro :-)

can also relate to trying to get a better one next time.

Hi Howard,
Beautiful violet flower. Very good composition. TFS.

The picture looks to be a bit under exposed. I am not sure if you have deliberately under exposed it. Anyway, I have tried a WorkShop to improve upon the exposure. Please let me know if you like it.

Hi Howard,i know how is little and not easy to take so perfectly,i like a lot your way to use the soft colour, excellent sharpenss and details as usual,my best compliments for the note too,Luciano
