Lesser known backyard inhabitants:

This is the Splendid leafroller (Lepidoptera; Tortricidae; Olethreutes arcuella; Prachtwickler), easily the most spectacular of all tortricid species. On this picture it sits on a rasperry leaf and a rasperry flower looms above it. The individual is 10 mm long. The larvae of the species live from rotten leaves.

The Leaf roller family is species rich, the moths are small, numerous and more or less grey.

ein 'genial' gutes Bild dieser µ-Motte. Technisch einwandfrei .. und dazu noch dieses Tierchen mit hochwertig künstlerischem Flügeldesign.

A superb, if not perfect, macro of this striking Tortridid moth, O. arcuella taken from a great POV with fine sharpness and colours.
In view of the excellent technical qualities I have made a cropping suggestion in the WS.

Lieber Dieter,
Wirklich ein Prachtwikler; trägt eine Kleid aus schönstem orientalischen Stoff. Hervorragend fotografiert mit genauster Schärfe und keiner Ueberbelichtung. Auch finde ich deine grosszügige Komposition bessser,da man so die ganze Blüte sehen kann und sie wie ein schützendes Dach wirkt.
Einen schönen Tag noch, kommt doch endlich die Sonne zurück
