Hello friends in TN.

The Brahminy Kite (Haliastur indus), also known as the Red-backed Sea-eagle, is a medium-sized bird of prey in the family Accipitridae which also includes many other diurnal raptors such as eagles, buzzards and harriers.

This kite is a familiar sight in the skies of India, Pakistan , Bangladesh, and southeast Asia and as far south as New South Wales, Australia, through which region it is widespread and resident.

It has a typical kite flight, with wings angled, but its tail is rounded unlike the Milvus species, Red Kite and Black Kite, which have forked tails.

The Brahminy Kite is an attractive bird, with chestnut plumage except for the white head and breast and black wing tips. The juveniles are browner, but can be distinguished from both the resident and migratory races of Black Kite in Asia by the paler appearance, shorter wings and rounded tail.

This species nests in trees, often close to water. It feeds as a scavenger particularly on dead fish, crabs particularly in wetlands and marshland.

The call is a mewing keeyew.

Hello Jusni,
A great in-flight of a Brahminy Kite. Excellent POV and composition but most of all the lighting through the wings is fantastic!
Well done and thanks for sharing this beauty,

Hi Jusni,

A wonderful capture of the Brahminy Kite in flight. You froze him in a perfect position. I just love the lighting seen through the winds - that makes this shot really special.

Hello Jusni
What a beautiful bird of prey! I like the light and color on the wings-feathers against the sky.
Good cropping with a nice composition, thought it made the picture appear with a bit of noise. I made a little workshop for I like very much this Brahminy Kite. I hope you like it.
Best regards
Maite

Hi Jusni

Wonderful shot of this Brahminy Kite it's one of the first Kite's I photographed, stunning bird, love the light coming though the wings, beautiful sky too, all the best,

Cheers Rick :)

Hi Jusni,
Impressive action shot. Great timing and composition. Which I don't really understand is the thin white line around the bird - was it caused by USM? Bg's a bit grainy, too - but Maite's WS is fantastic.
Sorry for the one point, but tfs, have a nice day. László

Hi Jusni

The Brahminy Kite is impressive. The capture of the bird in flight is difficult. The point of view is showing the details and colors of the bird. The colors are enhanced by the light. The subject is nicely frame. Have a nice day.
