I have been very impressed by the fantastic colours of the rocks all along the shores of the Ile Verte. I couldn't help but take pictures and lot of abstracts of those beautiful rocks looking as though they have been painted... in a way they have.

I have been searching for hours to get information on the geological formation in the St.Lawrence River. All I could gather was that the north coast of the river is formed by the Canadian Shield and the south shore by the Appalachian. Otherwise, I could get information through Ontario government but not much in Quebec.

I found some very interesting information on the history of the St.Lawrence, at that site: http://www.thecanadianencyclopedia.com/index.cfm?PgNm=TCE&Params=A1SEC827587

What remains in my heart is the beauty of such colours. They reminded me of my visit at the Biodom in Montreal, there is this huge aquarium and you can visit a reconstitution of the bottom bed of the St.Lawrence River. The colours are the same as the ones I saw in Ile Verte.

I hope you enjoy this sight. Thank you!

Francine

Hi Francine!

I'm impressed, too, and really delighted! It's just superb! The pastel colour tones are magnificient. I never have seen so many different colour tones on rocks, and you have captured this in a great manner.

Congratulations!

Markus

Hi Francine

Lovely abstract shot of these rocks. The green colour is either from copper or (more rarely) from a slip zone along a fault.

Hi Francine,
great looking capture you have uploaded today,it reminds me of a Group of Seven painting so much so it is uncanny. The muted pastel colours are what really set this photo apart and the details are very good as well. This is a scene I would like to see for real and thank you for sharing this image with us all. Bob

Bonjour Francine,

Tony

Don't you have love for this kind of image. I am so happy you purchased that camera...It gives me a connection point. Since I have one simialr in ways, it is just the kind of image I would expect...with of course the right eye behind the viewfinder and in this case the LCD.
Bob

Is this water colours?

this is a fantasy shot!I am simply numbified, and awestruck!
Very well done, Francine!

Bonjour Francine,
Vraiment, tu as raison ce paysage est de toute beauté. Bien photographié aussi. Le cadrage est parfait et tu a crée une belle oeuvre d'art. Voilà qui fait rêver...
Bonne journée
Anne

Hi Francine,
This is a wonderful image for its colors and varied textures, shapes, and patterns. Would love to have a go at this place myself.
I might've added a border mf, that's about it..
I also would've been tempted to increase contrast & saturation slightly - This image is the perfect candidate for it.
Very well done, an interesting comp & post!
Howard
