| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
The Farne Islands have several different species of bird resident, this one in particular being a Shag.
Often confused with Cormorants, Shags can be distinguised by the greenish sheen over their bodies, they are slightly smaller than Cormorants with a thinner and smaller neck and during the breeding season, Shags have a small crest of feathers.
I was caught taking this parent checking and shuffling the eggs. I can't decide whether the expression of the bird is telling me that it's very proud or whether it's an indignant look telling me to go away.
Regards

Nicely done, Dave.
Interesting content. Now, I'll leave it alone:-)

Hi Dave,
Lovely focus-though the cormorant looks as it may be about to attack you!
The good DOF really brings the birds face & its green eyes to the fore.
Nice shot,
David.
beautiful photo

Hi Dave
Great pose - you have captured the slightly 'crazed' look of these birds very well. Good detail too.
James
