[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The Old World Swallowtail (Papilio machaon), is a butterfly of the family Papilionidae. The butterfly is also known as the Common Yellow Swallowtail or, simply, The Swallowtail (a common name applied to all members of the family). It is the type species of the genus Papilio and occurs throughout the Palearctic region in Europe and Asia; it also occurs across North America, and thus is not restricted to the Old World, despite the common name.

Hi Aires,
A usual POV but metallic colors and patterns of the butterfly are beautifully captured. The plant its on looks like some species of Lupinus (Fabaceae) TFS

Hallo Aires
Wonderful capture of this Swallow tail. Straight forward presentation with super sharpness, focus and detail. Outstanding depth of field. Vibrent but soft to the colours and awesome patterns on the wings. It can actually go through as a piece of artwork. A splendid piece of work, presented in a most delightful manner. Thanks for sharing.
Kind regards
Anna

hello Aires,

Grazie e complimenti. Ciao Maurizio

Hello Aires,
Good shot, very interesting and beautiful species. This year I haven't seen it in my neighbourhood.
Regards, Pawel

Hello Aires,

Amazing sharpness in all details in this butterfly!
The wings have this silky-crisp texture, and the colours are very well reproduced...
Great light and a fine piece of macro work!

Greetings,
Pablo -

Aires - The colouring looks like someone spray painted the back of this beautiful butterfly - amazing colours!!! A real shame it had lost the back of it's wing - well done....mark
