The Anthaxia nitidula or Metallic wood-boring beetle is a species of the Buprestidae family (jewel beetles) can be found of various flowering shrubs and herbaceous plants, especially Rosaceae. It is common beetle in all Europe.
The male is completely metallic light green and about 4.5mm length. The female has dark green elytres and a red pronotum and about 7.5mm length.
This is a female on a Hypericum flower.

L’anthaxie brillante (Anthaxia nitidula) fait partie de la vaste famille des Buprestidae (appelées « Richards » ou coléoptères bijoux en anglais, en raison de leurs couleurs métalliques).
C’est une espèce commune en Europe. On la trouve sur les buissons fleuris et plantes herbacées, particulièrement sur les Rosacées.
Le mâle est entièrement de couleur vert clair métallique. La femelle a les élytres verts foncés et le pronotum rouge ou cuivré. Le mâle a environ 4,5 mm de long et la femelle 7 mm.

Hi Catherine what beautiful colours you have in this one. A good name for this one. You have fine detail and rich colours. A nice POV/DOF. lost a little focus on the tail end but still a nice picture. well done TFS. Good notes too.

Very small species and very colourful! I like contrast between beetle and the flower. Also colour of frame corresponds in very good way with main part of photo.

Tu nous présentes une très belle image de cet insecte. Les couleurs sont sublimes et j'aime beaucoup ce contraste entre les pastels de l'arrière-plan et les couleurs vives de l'insecte. Cela crée un effet agréablement artistique.
