Hello Neighbour,
I'm not sure, Bob, though I feel I should know! However, as they say, 'a rose by any other name ...'
You have captured the flower head really well, with good details and colour.
I would have cropped a lot of that empty space around it so the eyes would have focussed on it better. Still, that is just my opinion.
Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Hi Bob,
This is so simple and so beautiful. The flower, which I don't recall seeing before is lovely with wonderful colors and details. Interesting how you show three stages next to one another.

Hello Bob,
Sorry but we don't know this little beauty and we haven't got a Flora of America or Canada. Without knowing the size of the flower and the shape of the leaves it is really hard to give an ID. Nevertheless we certainly appreciate its beauty here! A lovely capture against a fine soft background.
TFS and cheers from Ulla and Ivan (who's getting ready for his trip up north!)

Hi Bob, not certain of the american specie, but it does resemble a Dovesfoot Cranesbill found over here, about 10-12 mm across and deeply notched petals... member of the Geranium family, try looking at the Flax family as well.... great shot though, If I remember, the Audubon Society website is good for ID'ing things...

Hello Bob,
Very fine purple flower, which I don't know unfortunately. Interesting composition with a lot of space for this subtle beauty. Why not, may be she needs space..The colours are subtle and fit in a marvellous way.
Thanks
Anne

Very nice shot of this beautiful flower Bob,
Not sure of it's idendity but you've captured it's image well. I'm not sure if I've ever seen one of these here in Ohio.
I've been on vacation this past week and saw a lot of flowers along the roadsides. I guess I never realized just how many different kinds of wildflowers there are, until I started posting on TN.

Perhaps Bob. Whatever is the name, I can call this flower beautiful. The violet petals are so sharp that they glitters on my LCD screen. You have captured really well in your weed patch as the background is totally silenced making the perspective very pleasant. Well done and I'm sure Ivan will be around to ID this one. Thanks for sharing and best regards. Jusni
Hey Bob, it is a pretty little flower. I have no idea of its name but the colours of the petals remind me of some types of geranium or pelargonium. And I saw this on Wikepaedia:

Pretty little flower and I love the colours. I did a WS - hope you like it
Cheers

Love the DOF here, not to mention the bend of the flower. The color is subtle, the angle/POV is dead on, and I love the way the inside sticks out.

Hi Bob,
Very simplistic presentation but it is such a wonderful shot on this solitary flower. Lovely colours and details and the space around it gives it a fabulous aura. Excellent POV and composition. Kudos.

Hi Bob
I would say this might be a Tall Annual Willowherb / Epilobium brachycarpum. Geraniums usually have sticky leaves and/or petals. I hope this helps. What ever your flower is, it sure is dainty. Love the colour and clarity.

Hi Bob,
A nice close-up image of the small flower. The light is enhancing the colors. The point of view is showing the details and colors of the flower. The subject is lonely. Have a nice dya.
