This is a well-composed shot. Good focus on the mushroom against the blurred background. The greens and browns are balanced nicely. This image shows one of my favorite aspects of woodland photography: a new generation of life (mushroom and lush greenery) emerging through the decaying remnants of a former generation (fallen leaves and twigs).

Hi Laszlo!
Very interesting note about mycorrhyza. It remained me my school years :-) Picture is also very nice - I like shape and 'pose' of fungus. BG with green plants looks nice. Good work!

Hi Laszlo
Another great fungi shot. Good POV and DOF. Stands out well on the green background. Have you tried Felipe's technique of merging flash and natural shots together? So easy and produces good results.
cheers

Hello László
What a curious and beautiful mushroom this is!! As you say it is really photogenic, though in fact you make all mushrooms photogenic. The information about the "Mycorrhyza" is so interesting and useful!
Thank you very much for sharing, my friend.
Best wishes

Bonjour Laszlo, it's the first time I visit your gallery and I am glad I did because I like fungi and just bought a book to identify them in my nearby forest! It is a beautiful mushroom, an archetypal one I would say, looking like a mushroom for Hobbits! I find your notes very interesting too and learned a lot from it. The picture is great, beautifully lit and showing the environment yet very detailed. Thank you!

Splendida macro di questo leccino, eccellenti POV e DOF, molto bella la composizione, ottima definizione dei dettagli del fungo, bellissimi e naturali. Molto interessanti le note sulla simbiosi di questi funghi e le piante. Grazie e complimenti. Ciao Maurizio

Hello Laszlo,
This is a very fine capture of this beautiful fungus very sharply in focus and in nice light. Great details and natural colours too.
We don't have this fungus in Sweden but many others of the same family and we're lucky to have sensible names to some of them, for example:- L. scábrum = 'Björksopp' and L. aurantíacum = 'Aspsopp' etc. If you know latin (which I don't!) it's also easier to identify them as the name often describes them, but they're all '-sopp' in Swedish!!
Mycology is fascinating - are you an expert or an amateur?? Anyway the note is very good!
TFS and regards, Ulla

Hello Laszlo
You do have some great fungi in your gallery. And this one does look quite attractive with the curve of his stem and the tilt of his 'hat'.
I do like how you got down so close to photograph it.
Well done
